Md. Ruhul Amin is a graduate of Bangladesh University of professional, Bangladesh and a former Army officer, retired Major of Bangladesh Army. After his voluntary retirement, he focused his career on the development sector. He is deeply compassionate about making the local farmers financially empowered by taking them out of poverty by cultivating a climate–friendly crops. His passion for agriculture and empowering local farmers has led him to found COUNTREE.
He is working under the supervision of an agriculturist Dr Parimal Kanti Biswas of Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka to train these farmers.
As a Bangladeshi citizen, Md. Ruhul Amin understands the importance of agriculture and food security, as he grew up in a village and from an agriculture-dependent family. Agriculture is in his blood. Currently, COUNTREE is working with the farmers of 2 districts (Bogura and Faridpur) of Bangladesh, as I experienced that they are unaware of the modern agricultural system which is a barrier to increasing production and improving their economic condition. They are insecure and afraid to cultivate new crops and unaware of the nutritious values of many unconventional crops, like; Quinoa, Strawberry, and Chia seed. Md. Ruhul Amin is trying to incorporate the concepts relating to climate-smart agriculture to them with the help of the agriculturists, to ensure sustainable food supply and economic solvency of the farmers by incorporating high-value crops and a smart-marketing system. As an entrepreneur, he is supporting them to cultivate new crops, linking with the experienced agriculturist, and helping them market their product to get sustainability.

Sayma Rahman has over a decade of experience in Telecommunication industry. She held key leadership positions at Grameenphone and Telenor. She bagged the award of ‘Top Progressing Woman Leader in Bangladesh’ in 2016.
Currently, Sayma Rahman is the founder and CEO of SR Ventures & Consultancy, a firm that provides business consultancy to local & international organizations.
Sayma Rahman is a startup investor and advisor. She is also an avid traveler.

Esrat Karim

Esrat Karim is the Director and Founder of Amal Foundation. She has been an advocate for social reform and women empowerment since before her foundation was established in 2014. As a result of her work in education, emergency response, health, and women’s empowerment, she was honored by Forbes in 2020 as one of Asia’s top 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Dhaka and her Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado. As an Acumen Fellow, she is running skill centers for women in different remote areas of Bangladesh. Esrat was the first girl in her community who completed undergraduate studies and received a scholarship to study in a prestigious master’s program in the United States.
